Erotica Review: The Last Good Knight by Tiffany Reisz

Scars and Stripes (The Last Good Knight, #1) Sore Spots (The Last Good Knight, #2)
The Games Destiny Plays (The Last Good Knight, #3) Fit to Be Tied (The Last Good Knight, #4) The Last Good Night (The Last Good Knight, #5)

This is going to be a little different review, but I decided to say my thoughts on this five novellas together, because they are part of one series that I love and in reality they could be released together as one single novella without a problem.

An Original Sinners novella told in five parts.

Part One: Scars and Stripes
It's lust at first sight when Mistress Nora encounters a sexy newcomer to The 8th Circle. She's happy for the distraction, since she left her lover, Søren, but her session with Lance is cut short when her boss, Kingsley Edge, reveals they're all in danger….
Rating: 4 stars

This first part was perfect because we have Nora being very Dominatrix and it was extremely hot to watch her use that red riding crop again. Lance was almost a sadist, but Nora discovered his sweet side and even made their night together fun. Soren of course managed to make an special appearence, but this novella was all about Nora and her how good she is with that crop of hers.

Part Two: Sore Spots
With a potential stalker on the loose, Kingsley hires Lance as Nora's bodyguard, but stipulates no sex while he's on duty. Frustrated by the ex-SEAL's noble chivalry, Nora is driven to seek release with the one man she's trying to forget….
Rating: 4 stars

This second part was more about the background story and we got to know Lance and why his working for Kingsley. Of course after Nora realised she could have him, she became the temptress and did everything to get him in her bed, but Lance is a great guy and his past made him chose to follow the rules. I liked Lance very much and would like a happy ending for him in this story and in the BDSM world.

Part Three: The Games Destiny Plays
Shocked to see Nora's bruises, Lance is furious that she put herself in danger and demands to know where she got them. As Nora confesses her true nature, she's equally shocked to learn that Lance has some secrets of his own, drawing them together despite Kingsley's orders….
Rating: 3 stars

I wanted to like this part, honesty, but the middle of a story it's a really boring part for me and this time was no difference. Nothing much happened. Nora had an Oscar winning sub and Lance saved her from a dangerous situation, but they only talked and things were a little boring with this part.

Part Four: Fit to Be Tied
With her feelings for Lance warring with her recent encounter with Søren, Nora returns to Lance's bed and finds herself toying with the idea of…toying with him on a permanent basis. But after she gets a glimpse into his personal angst, Nora realizes she has the power to rescue this white knight…
Rating: 4 stars
Amazon • Barnes & Noble • Goodreads

Things happened really fast and now Nora is free to bound and make Lance submit to her once again. This time she has all day and her house is the perfect place for it, but the best part for me was Soren woried about Nora safety and checking up on her. They had a nice discussion and we can see love and hate are always between them. Nora loves him so much, but she also wants some freedom, so Lance would be perfect for her.

Part Five: The Last Good Night
Now that the perpetrator has been apprehended, Nora sadly acknowledges she doesn't need a bodyguard anymore. She adores Lance and wants to keep him but is faced with a dilemma—if she uses her connections to help Lance, she'll have to give him up forever…
Rating: 4 stars
Amazon • Barnes & Noble • Goodreads

I liked the big finale for these two and Nora as usual made the right choice for Lance. She's such a good friend and made everything possible to help Lance. Not much happened in this part but I loved their time together and some of Nora's words.

Summary:

Savannah Dupree is halfway across the country from her Louisiana bayou hometown, a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But academic excellence is only one of Savannah’s gifts. She possesses something even more remarkable than her quick mind and insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, Savannah can see an object’s past—a skill that puts her life in danger, when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the secret hidden within the blade’s history: the vicious murders of twin boys by a group of fanged creatures borne of the worst kind of nightmare.

In all his three hundred years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he’d see the blade again that spilled his young brothers’ lives ages ago on that blood-soaked night in London. Ever since the boys’ deaths, Gideon’s been on a personal quest to rid the world of Rogue vampires, but now he can’t help wondering if the brutal slayings of his only kin was something more sinister—an act perpetrated by an unknown enemy. An enemy who is apparently living in hiding somewhere in Boston. There’s one certain way to prove Gideon’s suspicion, but it will mean using innocent, gifted Savannah to help uncover the full truth—a truth that will shatter everything she knows about herself and the world around her. And with danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity…

Thoughts:

Gideon was always the go to guy for anything connected with tecnology in this series and it was so cute to realise after reading this book that in reality he gave up fighting to be with Savannah. I loved this couple since book one and it was extremely fun to see them finding each other and falling in love.

Their story was really simple, they met after Savannah saw a couple of disturbing things from a very old sword, she has a gift about seeing the past from some objets. Nice trick, but it wasn't particularly good for after the bad guys, a couple of Rogues decided to kill her.

I liked this world before all the changes and the bad things were only the rogues. But it was also a nice couple.

Summary:

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery invites you back to Fool's Gold, where a newcomer to town might finally meet the man she never knew she needed…

Angel Whittaker earned his scars the hard way, but the scars that can't be seen are the ones that haunt him the most. Since he moved to Fool's Gold, California, he's cobbled together a life for himself as a bodyguard trainer. If he's not exactly happy, at least his heart is safe.

Working with pro-football superstars taught tough-talking PR woman Taryn Crawford one thing—she can go toe to toe with any man. But then dark, dangerous former Special Ops Angel targets her for seduction…and challenges her to resist his tempting kisses.

Even in four-inch heels, Taryn never backs down. Unless, somehow, Angel can convince her that surrender might feel even better than victory.

Thoughts:

Okay this book was not all that I expected. I think Angel could be a little more romantic sometimes, but he decided to play a game with Taryn and win her over the brains. The guy couldn't even bother to call her, so for me that was a very bad move. Taryn liked him, because he was alpha male and a different type from all the other she could boss around. So a nice surprise.

Taryn liked him, for different reasons but we can see that she's just like every other woman and wants to hear pretty words from her man. So those three she works with decided to play save and be on her side during her break up.

I liked seeing all those other faces and getting to know better those other guys that are definitely getting their happy ending pretty soon. Not so sure about the main couple, but they kinda fit together. Not sure this book was great like the rest of the series, but more like a regular romance. I expect more from Susan Mallery.

Summary:

She’s prepared for her wedding all her life … but she forgot a few things.
Ellie Martin, a country girl in Atlanta, often de-stresses from city life by tending the flower beds of a church near her apartment. She has dreamed of a traditional wedding all her life, a wedding like the one her younger sister is planning back in their hometown. Their single mom will pay for Alexa’s wedding, but Ellie started her own wedding fund years ago. She only needs to find a groom.
She bumps into a man who’s a guest at a wedding on the church grounds. She’s noticed him around the neighborhood, but today he introduces himself as Gray Whitby. They embark on a whirlwind romance, but her mother doesn’t trust freewheeling men like him. Standing up to Mom leads Ellie to stick up for Alexa too. When Ellie risks her own plans for her sister’s sake, Gray feels betrayed. Will he always play second fiddle?
Will Ellie and Gray reconcile their differences so her dream wedding can come true, or will the romance they’ve begun come crashing down?

Thoughts:

Okay this book has some good points, but I did not liked Ellie mother, she's mean and only thinks about the past. Ellie is trying really hard to have a normal life away from her mother, you can clearly see things are strange when they barely talk.

I liked Gray and the way he pointed out to Ellie how to change, but I also believe he could be a little more understand, their relationship was way too fast for me, but I liked the couple and the changes we could see in Ellie.

Ellie spend way too much time worrying about what her mother or other people will say, she changed a lot and I think it was for the best, so Gray was perfect for her.

Summary:

A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her . . .

After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him. A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy . . .

Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents -- until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae -- and their notorious dark desires -- ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings. An all-consuming desire . . .

Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?Includes an excerpt from Kresley Cole's next romance novel, No Rest for the Wicked.

Thoughts:

I wanted to like this book more, but Lachlain was not my favorite guy. I understand he was tortured for 150 years and want revenge after he found his mate, but it's amazing the way he forgets about her and try really hard to just think about killing more vampires. The best point is how Emma is half vampire and half valkyrie. She also looks really young and a little stupid for my taste. I can never understand the reason for those girls to be virgins and stupids.

They had a hard time during the travel and the mating dance was extremely hard for Emma, she doesn't know a thing about the other supernatural creatures. For someone that lived in New Orleans and had a crazy family like her, things were a little strange. So this was not my favorite couple, but I'll continue with the series to see what the good things ahead.

Summary:

Suspicious happenings on the Staten Island Ferry draw Lieutenant Eve Dallas to the New York Harbor. Investigating a woman's disappearance on a New York City ferry, Detective Eve Dallas wonders—if she didn't jump, and she's not on board, then where in the world is she?

Thoughts:

This story was something out of a movie. We got Eve trying to find the body and the murder, but the worst part was this investigation made a huge dent on Eve and Roarke happy marriage. I love how their marriage is different, but Roarke is always understanding about the hours and the danger. Eve has a hard time accepting that Roarke has so much anger towards those men responsible for hurt and pain to little Eve. So when this story started to connect with that agency, I was a little worried about those two.

For me this is a short story, but you need to follow the series to completely understand both sides and their reasons for the choices made in this.

Summary:

When the newly promoted captain of the NYPSD and his wife return a day early from their vacation, they are looking forward to spending time with their bright and vivacious sixteen-year-old daughter, who stayed behind.

Not even their worst nightmares could prepare them for the crime scene that awaits them instead. Deena has been brutally murdered in her bedroom, and her body shows signs of trauma that horrify even the toughest of cops, including our own Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who is specifically requested by the captain to investigate.

When the evidence starts to pile up, Dallas and her team think they are about to arrest their perpetrator; little do they know that someone has gone to great lengths to tease and taunt them by using a variety of identities.

Overconfidence can lead to careless mistakes. But for Dallas, one mistake might be all she needs to serve justice.

Thoughts:

Another great investigation from Dallas and Roarke. Yes I know she has Peabody, McNab and even Whitney, but for me most of those investigations are purely Eve and Roarke pilling up evidences and making a case out of those scenarios. She can be a little sppoky with the way she always know how the murder is acting, but usually Roarke is able to help her with people or even by just using the computer.

This time was a little different because we can see she's disturbed by the way the victim died and even after Whitney asked for her help, is clear she would never refuse. Roarke was her rock in this one and made all the grand gestures, but I loved the way Eve was a little lost with the wedding and her espected help. She had no idea about what to do. Too bad we barely saw the wedding.
