A #1 New York Times Bestselling AuthorSerena MacGregor's father knew she'd never settle down and produce a grandchild while working as a blackjack dealer on a luxury cruise ship. But he knew he could stack the odds in his favor by sending unsuspecting Justin Blade - part Comanche and all gambler - to see that his daughter was lucky in love . . .
My Thoughts:
First I’d like to say this is a very important series for me. It was one of the first ever romance books that I’ve read and literally made me fall in love with Nora Roberts’s books. She has a special way to capture the characters as very normal people with flaws and during the book they made mistakes and guess that’s why they are alive until today.
I’ve bought this series a couple of years ago in my country and discover that Mrs. Roberts is very famous and my love harlequin books began. This is a family series so the characters usually returns on the other books even if just to a party or a wedding, and I kind of like knowing what happened with them after a few years.
I know the cover that I posted is very different from the original and is actually the one Harlequin Brazil used when they first released the books. And each is unique in their own way. I’ve read the first two for the read a long, and they are separate books so there will be two reviews. Let’s move along.
The first book we start to discover the family and how much Daniel MacGregor likes to meddle in his family affairs, so in this book we can see this matchmaker side. He gives Justin Blade a passage to a cruise trip but what Justin doesn’t know is that Serena or Rena as everyone says is currently living and working in said ship.
So Papa MacGregor is actually trying to connect his daughter and a friend. But is very funny reading him speaking with the kids and hoping for a new generation, but all of this in name of Anna his wife.
Justin discovers very quickly that he’s been set up but decides to wait and give a shot at destiny to have Serena all for himself. Serena on the other end doesn’t know about her father until the end of the cruise and after that she takes some time to understand how she feels and if really true her feelings.
Loved how this two handled Daniel, even better when he was the last one to realize that he was right about this two. There’s also a bit of suspense on the end that helps those to understand how much they love each other.
