This short story spans a period of many years, beginning before Gin was born and ending during the events of Tangled Threads. It is told from the point of view of Mab Monroe and shows how the Fire elemental grew up, including her first meeting with Eira Snow, Gin’s mother.

I have a problem with this novella only because of it’s place on the series order. I read after the first book and discovered some events that only takes place later on the series. It’s interesting because I first thought this was supposed to be Gin along the years, but not on the “future”.

 

I liked but it kinda spoiled the surprise for me, hence the rating.
