Today I have author Suzanne Rock answering some questions. She’s here for the release blitz on her books.
Why did you decide to write a novel?
It’s part of my job. J I’ve been writing since 2008 and I was first published in 2009. I’ve always loved to write, but life got in the way of my dream. After my second child, I recognized that life was short. I didn’t want to wake up one day in a nursing home and realize that I never tried to reach my dream of becoming a writer.
I love telling stories and creating characters. It’s so much fun! The best reward that I can get is when a reader writes me and tells me that they like one of my stories.
What do you think makes your book stand out in today’s market?
My stories have a dark, edgy feel to them. They all center on the theme of self-discovery. My characters are often breaking free of societal expectations and becoming the people they were destined to be.
Do you have any must-haves while you are writing?
I’m addicted to coffee. I often have strong coffee, like French Press, by my side while writing. No sugar or cream, just a little bit of milk, please.
What kind of books do you read in your spare time? Do you read the same genre that you write?
Spare time? What’s that?
I read anything. Yes, I do read in my genre, but not often. I read a lot of thrillers, historical romances and urban fantasies.
Can you tell us anything about what you are currently working on?
You caught me in between projects. I just finished the first three books in the Ecstasy Spa series. I’m now working on edits for Unholy Cravings, the second book in my Immortal hungers series with Elloras Cave. (The first is Unholy Pursuits.) That story will be out sometime in June.
What is one novel book that you would recommend?
It depends on what you like to read.
If you like ménage, I recommend Velvet Steel. It’s a contemporary m/m/f romance and a Loose Id best seller.
If you like m/f erotic romance, I recommend Quick Fix. It’s a contemporary story and the first book I wrote and published entirely by myself. I’m so proud of it! (Note, the first three books, available now, are m/f erotic romances. The next three books will all be ménages and will be out in the early fall. Expect some of the characters from the first three books to make appearances in the later stories.)
If you like paranormal romances with a touch of BDSM, I recommend my Immortal Hungers series. The first book, Unholy Pursuits, is available now. The second book, Unholy Cravings, will be available in June. The third book, Unholy Embrace, will be out at the end of the year.
A curiosity you would like to share.
I’m a coffee addict and a fanatical football fan. I’m a proud season ticket holder of the New England Patriots and frequently go to the home games with my husband. When we go, it’s a full-day event, complete with tailgating. There’s nothing like it!

a dream?
My husband makes fun of my dreams since I’m the only one he knows who dreams in full color, and with plot and character development. In a recent dream I was a pirate who snuck onto a pirate ship. I befriended some of the crew, organized a mutiny and took over. The captain tried to sweet-talk me into giving him back his ship, so I made him walk the plank.
a nightmare?
The last one I had was a long time ago. In the dream I was on a commuter train with my husband. He went to one of the front cars for some reason and the train crashed. He died immediately and I was severely injured. Thank goodness it was only a dream!
favorite book?
So many to choose from! I don’t think I can choose just one.

Anything by Adele.

A lifetime New Englander, Suzanne married her college sweetheart and has been with him for over twenty years.
